External Media Offload

Estimated reading: 4 minutes 71 views

The External Media section in the Next3 Offload plugin is designed to manage all media files that are offloaded from your WordPress site to a connected cloud storage provider (e.g., BunnyCDN, AWS S3, etc.). This helps improve your website’s speed and reduce server load.

Purpose: Allows you to view, manage, and control all media files that have been successfully offloaded to the cloud.

? Key Features

1. Folder Selection for Offload

This option allows you to manually select specific folders within your WordPress wp-content/uploads/ directory that you want to include in the offload process to your configured external storage provider (e.g., Amazon S3, DigitalOcean Spaces, etc.).

? How It Works:
  • A list of available folders is displayed (typically organized by year/month or custom structure).
  • You can check one or multiple folders that contain media files you wish to offload.
  • Only the media files located within the selected folders will be considered for synchronization.
  • Folders that remain unchecked will be excluded from the offload process, allowing you to retain them on local storage.
  • Button: Sync Now
    • Initiates the synchronization of selected folders with the cloud storage provider.
    • Ensures that all selected media is uploaded to external storage.

2. Offload your external media files

The Offload Your External Media Files panel allows you to transfer your selected media files from your WordPress local storage to your configured external cloud storage provider (e.g., Bunny Storage, Amazon S3, DigitalOcean Spaces, etc.).

Once you’ve synchronized folders using the “Folders Include” and “Sync Now” functionality, the system will scan and identify eligible files for external offload. These files are then listed and made ready to be pushed to the cloud.

Button: Offload now

This button begins the offload process for all external media files that were detected in your local storage and are eligible for transfer to the cloud.
